A superb environment
Nested at the foot of the Vosges, with its 7146 inhabitants, Soultz has evolved* and grown to become over the last decades a pleasant, modern town looking back on its rich past. It is another gem amongst the Alsatian jewels.
Soultz has come a long way since 667*, when the name of the town first officially appeared in history when Adalric, the Duke of Alsace, handed over the town in the Abbey of Ebersmunster.

Safeguarded at the heart of Haute-Alsace.
Its exceptional setting has attracted men since far back in time. It seems that an embryonic town was erected around a salt-water spring which still runs today.
Salz (salt), Sulze, Sulza, Soultz. This is where the name of the town originates from. The town has grown in size and importance through the centuries, leaving as a proof the historical heritage that is highlighted today*.
Thanks to the never-ending work of the town gardeners and the inhabitants involvement, Soultz proudly displays the two flowers awarded by the National Floral Committee of France*, which rewards our lovely town for its floral decoration.
